The official date for Nipsey Hussle‘s Walk of Fame ceremony is set: The late rapper will officially receive a star on August 15, which would have been his 37th birthday.
The update comes a little over a year after Nip was announced as part of the Walk of Fame’s 2022 class. Michael Strahan, Michael B. Jordan and the Black Eyed Peas will also be honored with their own stars.
As fans know, Hussle was fatally shot on March 31, 2019, outside his Marathon Clothing Store. His killer, Eric Holder, was convicted of first-degree murder and faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.
The rapper was posthumously honored with a Humanitarian Award at the 2019 BET Awards and will have a Los Angeles metro station designated in his name.
The Walk of Fame ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. PT.
