To kick off the BET Hip Hop Awards tonight, October 4, BET will air a special edition of Rap City with none other than the show’s longtime host and TV personality, Big Tigger.
A long time coming, Big Tigger first hinted at a reboot of the show last September, and fans of the long-running show were anxious for its return. With special appearance by Jermaine Dupri, Tobe Nwigwe, Fat Joe, Jeezy, Drama and more, BET premiered a one-hour segment before the 2021 Hip Hop Awards. Rap City ’22 kicking off at 8 p.m. ET, will feature interviews with Lil Kim, Remy Ma, Rapsody, G Herbo and other hip-hop favorites.
Then comes the main show.
Hosted by rapper Fat Joe, the 2022 Hip Hop Awards will see performances by Fivio Foreign, King Combs, Kodak Black, French Montana, Glo Rilla and many more.
Also returning are the highly anticipated cyphers that’ll take place throughout the night highlighting Baby Tate, Deetranada, Guapdad 4000 and more rap stars of today.
Trina will accept the night’s I Am Hip Hop Award for her more than 20 years as a leader and trendsetter in the hip-hop industry.
The night’s celebration will round out with the final iteration of DJ Cassidy‘s Pass the Mic featuring appearances by Busta Rhymes, Ice Cube, Method Man, Styles P and more.
The BET Hip Hop Awards airs tonight at 9 p.m. ET on BET.
