Good Burger fans, rejoice, for the hit ’90s movie will soon see its sequel.

That’s according to the film’s star, Kenan Thompson, who confirmed to Entertainment Tonight that Good Burger 2 is well underway.

“We’re getting really close on Good Burger 2,” Thompson told ET. “It’s gonna happen, and I think it’s gonna happen soon. We’re gonna figure out when the pocket of time will be to shoot it, but it’s gonna happen.”

Thompson revealed that a draft of the script has been completed and that he and “a couple friends and a couple people from Paramount and Nickelodeon” had a reading of it. “And it was so funny,” Thompson added.

The original Good Burger, which released in July of 1997, stars Thompson alongside All That castmate Kel Mitchell. Thompson said of his longtime TV partner, “Kel has not missed a step,” adding, “It’s like old slippers, and that character is just ripe for jokes. We read like, over 100pages and laughed the whole time. It was so much fun.”

While they haven’t yet started filming the long-awaited sequel, the Saturday Night Live star says “I don’t think anything is gonna derail it.”
