For Gabrielle Union‘s milestone 50th birthday, her husband, Dwyane Wade, honored her with a public declaration of his love: The former basketball player got a tattoo of Union’s initials on his wrist.
“The moment you find out your man has made you his 17th tattoo,” she wrote on Instagram. “@dwyanewademade his best bday surprise for#SouthAfricaWadeWorldTour2022 edition #Capetown.” Alongside the caption, the actress shared footage of the moment Wade revealed the body art to her. Also included in the clip was their daughter Kaavia‘s reaction to seeing the tat.
Union turned 50 years old on October 29, and Wade apparently pulled out all the stops to ensure his wife enjoyed her big day. While on vacation in Tanzania, he surprised her with a birthday party complete with a musical performance by Lisa Lisa of Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam.
“I’m still processing the level of effort and planning that went into pulling off such an unbelievable 50th birthday party in Zanzibar Tanzania and keep the details a surprise from my nosy self,” Union wrote on Instagram. “I’m beyond grateful for all of my loved ones who flew around the world to celebrate with me.”
“I’m the happiest seasoned gal around,” she concluded.
