(Note Language) Cardi B dropped her debut album, Invasion of Privacy, nearly four years ago, and although she’s released a few singles since, her fans have been awaiting some new music. To tide fans over, the rapper took to Twitter Monday to share a snippet of something she’d been working on.
“HERE some scraps since yall STARVING,” she wrote next to the seven-second clip. When asked why she scrapped that song, she replied, “I just don’t love it.”
Cardi’s response is in alignment with sentiments she expressed when explaining the wait for her sophomore album.
“When it comes to music and everything, I just be feeling like I don’t be liking anything,” she previously said on Instagram Live. “I feel like I got so many songs and I don’t like anything. I feel like nothing is good enough … And I got so much money saved up I just be like, ‘Yeah, whatever the f***.’”
The thought of leaving her kids is also a reason for the delay.
“I’m just a mom and I do have anxiety,” she explained. “I’ve been having a lot of anxiety, because I know right after I drop my album, I have to go out on tour and I have bad separation anxiety from my kids.”
