Big Scarr, a Memphis rapper who was signed to Gucci Mane‘s New 1017 record label, has passed away.

Gucci shared the news Thursday via a short tribute to the 22-year-old. “This hurt I’m a miss you,” he wrote alongside a photo of Scarr.

According to TMZ, Scarr was pronounced dead Thursday with no signs of foul play. The rapper’s uncle Arthur Woods told the outlet he died after overdosing on prescription pills at his girlfriend’s house in Memphis.

Big Scarr, born Alexander Woods, signed to Gucci’s label and Atlantic Records back in 2020. He was known for his 2021 project Big Grim Reaper, which featured collaborations with Pooh ShiestyFoogiano and Tay Keith.

Scarr was slated to join fellow Memphis rapper Key Glock on his Glockoma tour, which is set to kick off in March.
