50 Cent working with Eminem on ‘8 Mile’ TV show

50 Cent is planning to bring an 8 Mile TV series to a screen near you. 

The rapper and businessman shared the news during an interview with Big Boy TV published Friday saying, “I’m gonna bring his 8 Mile to television.”

Eminem will also have a hand in adapting the film, which was based on his life, into a series, 50 confirmed, adding that the process is already “in motion.”

“It’s gonna be big. I ain’t got no duds. I’m battin’ a hundred, I’m battin’ a hundred,” he continued, seemingly references his successful Starz series Power and its handful of spinoffs Power Book II: GhostPower Book III: Raising Kanan and Power Book IV: Force.

As for what 8 Mile the TV show will look like, 50 says it will follow a similar structure as the new Peacock series Bel-Air, which is an updated take on the Will Smith-led 90s sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. 

“It’s a modern version,” he says.

8 Mile debuted in 2002 and starred Eminem as well as Mekhi PhiferBrittany MurphyMichael ShannonAnthony Mackie, and Kim Basinger. The film was a box office success, earning just shy of $230 million worldwide.
