Chloe x Halle, John Legend and more to perform tributes to Berry Gordy, Smokey Robinson at Persons of the Years gala

A group of star-studded artists have been tapped to honor Berry Gordy and Smokey Robinson at the 32nd annual MusiCares Persons of the Years benefit gala ahead of the Grammys. Announced Thursday, the lineup of performers includes John Legend, Chloe x Halle and PJ Morton. The Isley BrothersLionel RichieThe Temptations, Lalah Hathaway and Dionne Warwick will also hit the stage, honoring the Motown legends with performances of the music from their individual and collective legacies.

“I am so excited to share the always wonderful MusiCares event with my best friend Smokey Robinson and I can’t wait to hear these wonderful artists celebrate the Motown music,” says Gordy, founder of Motown.

“I’m so excited for this year’s MusiCares lineup. These artists are my friends and I not only love them, but I’m honored that they will be performing my music, along with hits from the Motown catalogue,” added Robinson.

The MusiCares Persons of the Years benefit gala is slated to take place on February 3 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Proceeds from the event will go toward MusiCares, the leading music charity that provides resources for and supports the health and welfare of the music community.
