Michael B. Jordan graces one of four worldwide covers as one of Time‘s 100 Most Influential People.

“He has a youthful appearance and spirit, so it’s easy to overlook his incredible feat of staying power in an industry that can be so transactional,” friend and longtime collaborator Ryan Coogler says of the actor. He discussed Michael’s 24-year-long acting career and said the star handled his role as feature-film director on Creed III with aplomb.

“I knew Mike had it in him. Because over that quarter-century of work, nothing was given to him,” says Coogler. “Everything was earned. And I strongly believe that his best work is still to come.”

Also on the list of Time‘s 100 Most Influential People were Angela BassettBeyoncéDoja CatSteve Lacy and Gina Prince-Bythewood.

DJ and music producer Honey Dijon, who worked on Bey’s 2022 album, Renaissance, said the singer’s “fearlessness, talent, beauty, and artistry will continue to influence and inspire Black female artists for millennia.”
