Chris Brown is setting the record straight following reports about his behavior at the Lovers & Friends festival over the weekend. After footage circulated of him in what appeared to the beginning of a scuffle backstage, he provided some context via a comment on NoirOnlineOrg‘s Instagram page.

“Yall been geeked all weekend , y’all dragging it now. It was mad people backstage and security was trying to clear everyone off the stage,” he wrote. “People started pushing back.. I INTERVENED To let them know MY CHILD WAS BACK THERE. So y’all can keep ya narrative.”

The singer failed to address allegations about his fight with Usher, which was said to have happened after his birthday party. Hollywood Unlocked reports the fight happened after an “intoxicated” Chris got “disrespectful” with Teyana Taylor and Usher attempted to calm him down. Chris then reportedly called Usher a coward and, along with his team, jumped the “Confessions” singer, who was said to have left the scene with a bloody nose.

Neither artist directly addressed the reports, though Usher posted on his socials, showing that no damage had been done his face. Chris also performed his set at the Lovers & Friends festival as scheduled.
