Drake is reacting to a post Erykah Badu shared regarding his two-night performance at the Apollo Theater.
The singer had reposted an article on her Instagram Story Monday that called Drake “the voice of a generation” alongside a caption that read “Cause he is @champagnepapi.”
He got wind of the post and shared it in his own Story, writing, “My eternal spirit animal has spoken.”
Drake’s Apollo show included performances of over 40 songs and special guests 21 Savage, Lil Uzi Vert and Dipset. Among those in attendance was Mayor Eric Adams, who Jim Jones says he met at the show.
“Got th chance to meet th @nycmayor,” Jones said alongside a video of their exchange. “Got a call from a friend said he was comin to Th concert last night and he wanted to stop by my dressing to meet me.”
“This my first time meetin any mayor from ny,” he continued. “And he’s a black mayor which I’m a very proud to see someone who looks like me in a position of power and is takin th steps to help turn th city round from experience and political position.”
As a resident of Harlem, Jim said he thought he’d express his concerns to Adams. “I know these concerns won’t b fix over night but every step forward is a step closer,” he wrote.
